Out of bed

My biorhythm is wasted. I can't sleep if I go to bed before 3 am and so I can't get out of bed in the morning. I've been skipping morning lessons in school for two weeks now because of this 'problem'. Today was a personal record. I decided to switch off the alarm clock and see when I would wake up. I went to bed yesterday around 4 AM and I woke up when my brother got home from school at 4.30PM. That's more than twelve hours of sleep, something is terribly wrong here. I've always liked sleeping longer than most people, but lately the situation is getting out of hand. I hate myself for missing the morning lessons and I will certainly try to get in bed way earlier (around 11 PM) than I do now. One of the reasons why I chose the branch of studies I do now, is to honour and remember my mother. I'm not doing a great job at that sleeping all day long, so I feel very guilty. I know I must change my current lifestyle if I want to pass this year and I'm planning to do so asap.

Now, not much happened today since I wasted half of it sleeping. I played some Call of Cthulhu on Xbox because I have to review the game soon (as a matter of fact, the review should have been ready a week ago). I really like the game because it's my first horror game and it sometimes really does a great job scaring the crap out of me. However, I find the game to be rather difficult and I had to use a walkthrough several times. Maybe that's because I normally only play way-too-easy Mario sportgames.

Although you couldn't really call Mario Kart DS way-too-easy, certainly not if you're playing online. Those Japanese guys are crazy and I've met some pretty good Germans too. Pity the Battle Mode doesn't work online, I feel that races online are based too much on winning rather than just having some fun. You can clearly see that because a lot of people disconnect when you're winning the third race in a row. This is really how you separate the decent gamers (those who accept their loss and try to learn from it) from the lame ones (who disconnect during the race and get a loss for that anyway).

I played some other Nintygames today. Finished some singleplayer campaigns in Super Smash Bros Melee with Marth, I was truly amazed that I could still finish the game on a normal difficulty. It's been a while since I last played the game, almost about a year, I guess. I did play SSBM against some friends last weekend, but they really weren't much of a match so I don't see that game time as actual practice. I'm just gonna do some more Melee matches in the next few days, slowly increasing the level of the opponents to 9. Which will be the time when my ass gets thoroughly kicked.

The Challenge mode in Donkey Konga sucks. I'm busy buying all the Gorilla music lately and so I thought I could get lots of money doing all 31 songs in a row in Challenge. One hour later, my hands completely wasted by the bongoing and clapping, I found out that you don't get nothing in Challenge except a lousy high score. So I found myself being 'the best drummer in DK Town', but not getting any reward for it. Damn you, Donkey Kong!

So finally, Nintendo announced it will fully reveal the Revolution in a press conference prior to E3 2006. I'm really excited about what they'll have in stock for us, I really liked the way they chose a new way of handheld gaming with the Nintendo DS. I certainly hope Nintendo gets some more recognition in the next generation of gaming, they deserve it because of all their new ideas to finally find new ways of playing games. Some people will be disappointed whatever Nintendo shows off at E3, because they've come to expect way too much from the Revolution. I'm lucky to be satisfied real quickly, so I rest assured that N will once again stimulate me to keep on gaming. The company, unlike its competitors, is the only one who can, because Nintendo defines my way of having fun.

I guess that's all for today. I don't see much reason why this blog should be interesting to anyone, but it somehow feels good having written it. Remember what I wrote about my imagination, the one who finds it will be rewarded with the astonishing rank of 'Finder of His imagination'. Love each other and have some beer.
