It's Friday night and I'm not at the bar, I wonder why. Perhaps because I ran out of money for the third time this week, which makes buying beers quite difficult.
For those interested in movies: I saw Ice Age 2 today. If you plan on seeing it: don't. It's hyped way too much. Because Scrat was so popular in Ice Age, he is now back with a lot more of his predictable nutty sequences. The only funny character in the movie is Sid, who also doesn't feel as convincing as he did in the first Ice Age. The love story between Manny and the other mammoth is pretty poor, the possums are not funny at all and Diego isn't as tough as he used to be. Pretty poor movie, it's a huge step back if you compare it to the sequel to Shrek, which kicked arse beyond recognition. If you're going to the theatre, watch V For Vendetta but not this one. Rent it once on DVD and thank me later.
For those interested in games: BFME 2 is now mine. The game's pretty cool, I still have to dig into all of the available factions to know how well the game is balanced, though. However, I will stick to Isengard as I did in the first game. I already made my own hero Giel, who looks to much like Lurtz at the moment so Lurtz will have to cut his hair or something. Some of the new maps are really nice, it feels great spreading chaos in the Shire and trying to assault or defend Isengard and Orthanc tower. The new War of the Ring mode is cool for five minutes, but I felt it got tedious pretty quickly. Could be fun online versus other players. I'm waiting for someone to recreate the movie map for BFME2, this time with custom heroes. You could have some pretty awkward scenarios, having my Uruk-Hai Giel defending Helm's Deep from the Uruk-Hai and stuff like that. Some of my friends will be getting the game this summer, their asses will be framed without mercy. This time there aren't any doors to be left open, so that's one problem less for them. Pity there aren't any walls around either when the game starts, they will curse the game for that. There will be no dawn for whoever of the Playstage crew dares challenge me in this game.
For those interested in V For Vendetta: I can hereby confirm that the comic is indeed better than the movie. I'll finish reading the graphic novel tonight, I still have one book (around 50 pages) to go. I like the way the movie and the comic complete each other in a way, I hear Hugo Weaving's voice in my head when V has some lines in the comic and I can see V making all kinds of crazy moves in my head when I read them. Both the comic and the movie emphasize on different aspects of the whole story, so if you're interested in the whole V experience you should probably get the comic too, it's not all too pricy. And no, I will not lend my copy to anyone. It's mine. Mine, I tell you! Away with you, heathen, before I send my flock of sea-gulls to your home! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!
For those interested in random stuff: I am still looking for a decent title for this blog. The Nameless is only temporary, in case you didn't know. In case you should have any good suggestions, which I seriously doubt considering how not one of you managed to find my inspiration in the Himalayas, you can post them in the comments. I will read them, laugh at how ridiculous they are and have a beer while I laugh at your pitiful suggestions some more. So bring 'em on if you feel like it.
For those of you who speak Dutch: check Stijn's blog. There's a link to it at wherever all of the other links are, so check it out. If you don't speak Dutch, you can still try to read it. Maybe it contains a hidden message if you combine the first letter of every sentence. Let's try that then, shall we? Let's see... Oh, 'Giel has hereby smacked my ass and called me a bitch.' Well, ain't that the goddamn truth.
For those about to rock, I salute you! Wait a second, I'm schizophrenic so I might as well say 'we'. In that case:
For those about to rock, we salute you!
